Ensures Processing/Packaging equipment & surrounding areas are kept in a clean, sanitary & safe condition at all times.

 

Job Description

  • Cleans and sanitizes all areas in a safe, timely and skilled manner to meet Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures.

  • Understands, utilizes, and follows all SSOP’s.

  • Follow LO/TO procedures at all times.

  • Must be able to work in hot or cold environments.

  • Must be able to effectively communicate in English both in written and oral form.

  • Must work safely at all times.

  • Must behave in a professional manner at all times.

  • Performs other functions as directed by Sanitation Team Lead, Sanitation Specialist, Sanitation Lead or Team Leads

Skills/Eligibility:

Education and/or Experience

  • High school diploma or the equivalent is required.

  • Experience desired but not required.

 

Language Skills

  • Ability to effectively communicate in English in both written and oral.

 

Mathematical Skills

  • Ability to add , subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent

 

Computer Skills

  • Basic computer skills.

 

Physical Demands

  • Must walk on various surfaces where water is frequently used to rinse equipment.  Slick areas exist due to the presence of potato matter, starch, and grease.

  • To reach some areas of the plan, team member must climb stairs and/or ladders, use man lifts, and walk on cat walks.

  • Must have good hand-eye coordination.

  • Must have normal finger dexterity and range of motion.

  • Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds on frequent basis.

  • Must be able to push and pull heaving items on occasion.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus

 

Work Environment

  • Regularly work near moving mechanical parts and vibration.

  • Frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions as well as extreme heat and cold environments

  • May be occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles; toxic, caustic, acid based or chlorinated chemicals.

  • Use proper personal protective equipment (PPE) that is required but not limited to: rubber gloves, wet suit, goggles, face shields/safety glasses and steel-toed rubber boots.

  • Regularly work in environment in which the noise level is usually loud.

  • May be required to work from a man lift to reach elevated areas for sanitation.

  • May be required to work in a confined space.
